Description

The Bavarian-Swabian Way of St. James leads from the medieval town of Oettingen to Lindau on Lake Constance. Since 2003, the path has been reconstructed and newly signposted by the Augsburg Pilgrims' Association. The first part of the route leads via Wemding and Donauwörth to the Jakobus city of Augsburg, from there it goes in an eastern and a western variant through forests and fields to Lake Constance. In their pilgrim's guide, the authors provide a detailed description of both variants of the route, which is almost 330 and 345 km long in total. Pilgrims will find helpful practical information on accommodation etc. for each stage and learn a lot about the sights along the way. An overview map in the cover flap as well as maps and altitude profiles help with orientation. Detailed general travel information provides tips for planning and carrying out the pilgrimage.
